Testimonials
At ApexaQLA Suisse, we use Sensophysio, a high-frequency, IMOT-assisted intensive therapy that combines sensory stimulation with physiotherapy. This innovative approach specifically promotes your child's neurological, sensory, and motor development.
Individual therapy for sustainable progress
Because every child's neurological development is unique, our approach is based on a precisely tailored therapy plan. The duration, intensity, and selection of methods are individually tailored to your child's specific needs.
Our goal is to activate the central nervous system through targeted sensory stimuli—such as light, deep pressure, touch, and vestibular impulses. This process promotes neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to strengthen neural connections and form new pathways. This fundamentally optimizes your child's perceptual processing and motor control.
Specifically, we rely on proven procedures such as:
-
Visual stimulation therapy: Targeted activation of visual processing, including using a light table.
-
Tactile and proprioceptive stimuli: Application of deep pressure and specific touch to improve body awareness.
-
Vestibular stimulation: Targeted impulses to promote balance, postural control and coordination.
Sensory-motor integration: Exercises to link sensory perception and motor response in order to optimize movement sequences.
Holistic support with a family focus
With us, you as a family are our focus. We actively involve you in therapy so that your child makes faster progress. Sensophysio combines scientific methods based on recognized concepts such as Family-Centered Care (FCC) and the International Classification of Functioning (ICF-Y) with innovative techniques – for more independence, self-confidence, and a strong future for your child.
Our approach: Individual, intensive and structured
It all begins with a comprehensive assessment, where we work with you to create an individualized therapy plan for your child. We're team players: Our interdisciplinary team works closely with your doctors, therapists, and teachers to connect all the dots. In a motivating environment, we set clear goals and work in a structured manner to help your child develop their full potential. We work with you, for you.
Our experienced therapists work in a motivating and supportive environment, challenging the child to achieve the best possible progress. We set clear goals and work towards them in a structured manner. We actively involve the family throughout the entire therapy process to ensure sustainable progress, even in everyday life.
Intensive care therapy model (IMOT)
Sensophysio combines targeted sensory stimuli with physiotherapeutic methods and is based on the proven IMOT (Intensive Model of Therapy). This high-frequency therapy form is used worldwide to treat sensory processing disorders, motor development delays, or non-degenerative muscular problems (CP/genetic conditions). The IMOT concept implements Sensophysio in intensive therapy sessions that enable rapid and sustained improvement in sensory and motor skills. After a comprehensive initial assessment, our specialized therapists create a customized therapy plan that is individually tailored to the duration, intensity, and methods used. Sensophysio based on IMOT principles helps strengthen neural connections, optimize perceptual processes, and sustainably improve motor functions.
What does the program and schedule look like?
The Sensophysio Intensive Program uses targeted sensory stimuli to optimally prepare your child's brain for new learning steps. In blocks of up to four weeks, we work intensively for 2–6 hours per day to strengthen neural connections and develop motor skills. The duration and intensity are precisely tailored to your child's needs (from 1 to 4 weeks).
How do I choose the right intensive program? Talk to us!
Choosing the right therapy program can be challenging, but we're here to help! Our process begins with a comprehensive assessment that includes:
In addition to the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM), which was developed specifically for children with cerebral palsy (CP) and Down syndrome, we also use the Peabody-3 to comprehensively assess your child's motor skills. This allows us to track individual progress and develop customized therapy plans for the best possible support.
Home program & aftercare
Therapy doesn't end at our door. When you leave the center, Sensophysio continues – at home, in your everyday life.
We ensure that the progress you make is sustainable. That's why you'll receive a comprehensive home program with personalized exercise plans and recommendations for adaptive aids.
Your support continues seamlessly: You have access to personalized online exercises and can ask your therapist questions at any time via a direct chat function. For closer support, we offer regular follow-ups and virtual visits via video conference.
