At ApexaQLA Suisse we use Sensophysio, a high-frequency, IMOT-supported intensive therapy that combines sensory stimuli with physiotherapy. This innovative approach specifically promotes your child's neurological, sensory and motor development.
Individual therapy for sustainable progress
Every child is unique - that's why we create tailor-made therapy plans that individually adapt the duration, intensity and methods. Through light, scent, touch and movement stimuli, we activate the brain, strengthen neural connections and optimize perception and motor skills.
We use, among others:
✅ Light table therapy for visual stimulation
✅ Tactile stimuli & deep pressure for better body awareness
✅ Vestibular impulses to promote balance and coordination
✅ Sensory-motor activation to optimize movement
Holistic support with a family focus
We follow a family-centered approach in which parents are actively involved in the therapy process. Our goal is for children to progress more quickly and for families to be equipped with the necessary knowledge to optimally support their child's long-term development.
Sensophysio –
Based on scientifically sound methods and innovative techniques, Sensophysio offers a new dimension of therapy - for more independence, self-confidence and quality of life. Our programs are individually tailored to each child and integrate the principles of family-centered care (FCC) and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF-Y).
With Sensophysio we enable children to improve their sensory and motor skills more effectively and quickly than with conventional therapy approaches – for the best possible development and a strong future!
Our approach: Individual, intensive and structured
Every therapy begins with a comprehensive initial examination (assessment), in which our interdisciplinary team works with the parents to determine the child's current developmental stage. Based on this analysis, we develop a customized therapy plan that is tailored to the child's individual needs and potential.
Our experienced therapists work in a motivating and supportive environment and specifically challenge the child to achieve the best possible progress. We set clear goals and work towards them in a structured manner. We actively involve the family in the entire therapy process in order to sustainably support progress in everyday life.

Intensive Care Therapy model (IMOT)
Our high-frequency IMOT-supported sensophysiotherapy combines targeted sensory stimuli with physiotherapeutic methods to sustainably promote motor and neurological development. After a comprehensive initial assessment, our therapists create an individual therapy plan that tailors the duration, intensity and methods used specifically to the needs of each child.
We use light table therapy, tactile stimuli and vestibular stimulation, among other things, to strengthen neural connections, optimize perception processes and specifically improve motor functions. By combining sensory activation and functional movement according to the Intensive Model of Therapy (IMOT), we enable children to develop their motor and sensory skills more quickly and sustainably.
intensive care therapy model (IMOT)
Sensophysio combines targeted sensory stimuli with physiotherapeutic methods and is based on the proven IMOT (Intensive Model of Therapy). This high-frequency form of therapy is used worldwide to treat sensory processing disorders, motor development delays or non-degenerative muscular problems (CP/genetic conditions). The IMOT concept means that Sensophysio is implemented in intensive therapy units that enable rapid and sustainable improvement in sensory and motor skills. After a comprehensive initial assessment, our specialized therapists create a tailor-made therapy plan that is individually tailored to the duration, intensity and methods. Sensophysio according to IMOT principles helps to strengthen neuronal connections, optimize perception processes and sustainably improve motor functions.
What does the program and schedule look like?
Our intensive Sensophysio therapy model includes 2-6 hours of therapy per day, up to 5-6 days per week, for a period of up to four weeks. The focus is on:
✅ Optimization of sensory processing through targeted light, touch and movement stimuli
✅ Neuroplastic support to improve perception processing and motor control
✅ Integration and coordination of sensory impressions to increase self-regulation
✅ Promotes balance, posture and motor control
A central element of our Sensophysio program is holistic sensory activation to optimally prepare the brain for movement and perception. We use light table therapy, tactile stimulation, vestibular impulses and targeted sensory stimuli to strengthen neural connections and improve motor functions.
The duration and intensity of each program varies depending on the diagnosis, sensory challenges, age and individual needs of the child. Our therapists are on hand to help you develop the ideal Sensophysio program for your child.
How intensive therapy can support your child
Sensophysio combines targeted sensory stimuli with physiotherapeutic methods to best promote your child's motor and neurological development. Intensive sensory stimulation strengthens neural connections, optimizes perception processes and promotes natural movement patterns.
Sensophysio can specifically improve the following areas:
✅ Sensory processing: Improve the perception of touch, movement and environmental stimuli for better response to external stimuli.
✅ Posture & body control: Promote stable body alignment through sensory integration and targeted muscle training.
✅ Muscle tone & mobility: Regulate muscle resistance through tactile and proprioceptive stimulation to improve movement control.
✅ Balance & coordination: Improve body balance through vestibular stimuli and targeted movement patterns.
✅ Motor planning & reflexes: Support brain-body coordination to develop efficient and safe movements.
Through targeted sensory and motor stimuli, Sensophysio helps your child to optimize his or her movement skills and gain more independence in everyday life.
Sensophysio – Possible Therapy Contents
Our Sensophysio methods are designed to specifically promote your child's sensory and motor skills. These include:
✅Multisensory integration: combination of light, sound, touch and movement to promote perceptual processing.
✅Light table therapy: Stimulate visual and cognitive processing for better neural activation.
✅Tactile stimulation & deep pressure: improve body awareness and regulate muscle tone.
✅Vestibular activation: Promotes balance and movement coordination through targeted movement impulses.
✅Proprioceptive training: Improve self-perception and movement control through targeted sensory feedback.
✅Use of modern technologies: Integration of TASES, NISE-Stim and Galileo to stimulate neural activity, optimize movement patterns and improve motor control.
In addition, we take orthopedic aspects into account by evaluating the individual need for aids such as orthopedic splints or adaptive devices in order to offer your child the best possible support in everyday life.
Sensophysio enables holistic therapy that improves both sensory processing and motor development – for more freedom of movement, better body control and sustainable promotion of independence.
How do I choose the right intensive program? Talk to us!
Choosing the right therapy program can be challenging, but we're here to help! Our process begins with a comprehensive assessment that includes:
In addition to the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM), which was developed specifically for children with cerebral palsy (CP) and Down syndrome, we also use the Peabody-3 to holistically assess your child's motor skills. This allows us to track individual progress and create customized therapy plans for the best possible support.
Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM)
The GMFM is a standardized tool for assessing and tracking gross motor skills in children with cerebral palsy (CP) and Down syndrome. It helps professionals evaluate movement skills in areas such as lying, sitting, crawling, standing, and walking. Using the GMFM, we can document progress and develop targeted therapy plans to improve motor skills.
Peabody Developmental Motor Scales – Third Edition (PDMS-3)
The PDMS-3 is another proven instrument for assessing motor development in children. It records both gross and fine motor skills and enables targeted planning of individual support measures to support motor development.
Every child takes their own path in therapy. That's why we offer personal advice to determine the optimal intensive program. Together we discuss your child's strengths, challenges and goals in order to develop an individual and effective solution.
