Our specialized center offers comprehensive pediatric assessments using the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales, Third Edition (PDMS-3) to professionally evaluate your child's motor development.
This physiotherapy assessment is the starting point for every patient journey, especially for our intensive programs. By accurately recording motor skills, we can create individual therapy plans that are specifically tailored to your child's needs.

Why we value paediatric assessments
Pediatric assessments are essential for us to understand your child's developmental stage. They form the basis for individual therapy plans and enable us to set realistic goals together with you.
Through our family-centered approach, we actively involve you and your family in the entire process. This way, we ensure that the therapy is not only tailored to your child's needs, but also takes your family values and resources into account.
This close collaboration promotes therapeutic success and strengthens the entire family system. Together we create a supportive environment in which your child can develop his or her full potential.
Pediatric assessments are an essential part of our therapeutic approach and form the basis for individual treatment plans. We offer two specific assessments:
Short pediatric assessment: This screening allows a quick assessment of your child's developmental level and helps to identify initial indications of possible support needs. This pediatric assessment takes about an hour and offers a compact but thorough evaluation of your child's developmental level. You will then receive a detailed short report that you can discuss with your pediatrician to determine the next steps together.
Peabody Developmental Motor Scales, (PDMS-3) : We are the first center in Switzerland to use this internationally recognized procedure to assess in detail the gross and fine motor skills of children from 3 months to 5 years and 11 months of age. The PDMS-3 includes five main subtests:
Body control: Assessment of the ability to move the limbs and trunk and to control postural reactions and balance.
Locomotion: Recording movements that take the child from one place to another, such as crawling, walking and jumping.
Object control: Measures the coordination of movements that integrate perception and action, such as throwing and catching a ball.
Hand Manipulation: Focus on the dexterity of the hands and fingers in tasks such as manipulating objects.
Eye-hand coordination: Assessment of the integration of visual stimuli with hand movements, crucial for tasks that require precise coordination.
Our Peabody Developmental Motor Scales, Third Edition ( PDMS-3 ) assessment typically takes between 90 and 120 minutes. Upon completion, you will receive a detailed report covering all areas analyzed and intended for sharing with your pediatrician.
We also use the Gross Motor Function Measure ( GMFM ) which is a standardized assessment tool to assess and track gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy (CP) and Down syndrome. It helps healthcare professionals evaluate motor skills in areas such as lying, sitting, crawling, standing, and walking. We use the GMFM with our patients to monitor their progress and create individualized treatment plans to improve their motor skills.
Through these comprehensive assessments, we ensure that each child receives tailored therapy that meets their individual needs.
