Plantar heel pain is a common symptom of plantar fasciitis in which pain occurs on the bottom of the heel, especially in the morning after getting up or after standing for a long time. This is often caused by inflammation of the fascia under the arch of the foot. Treatment includes rest, special insoles, stretching exercises, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatory medications.
